In the fall of 2021, my wife and I embarked on a memorable journey, spending a month in Florida before heading home. On our way back, we made a special stop in Alabama for my wife to reconnect with family she hadn't seen in years. During our stay, we discovered what has become our favorite park.
What made this park truly special was our campsite, nestled right on the lake with a serene beach as our backyard. The tranquility of the place, with few visitors around, made it a photographer's paradise. I could have spent weeks wandering the park, capturing its beauty through my lens.
One of my most cherished photographs, "Night Fish," was taken at 8:30 PM under the pitch-black sky. Earlier in the day, I had envisioned this shot from the pier, and I was fortunate to encounter a delightful elderly couple fishing there. They graciously allowed me to capture the moment, and this image quickly became my favorite.
What made this experience unforgettable was the couple's palpable love and companionship. Their shared activity kept them youthful and connected, reminding me of the joy I find in traveling and photographing with my wife. There's no one I'd rather spend my time with, and witnessing this couple's bond was truly inspiring. I hope this image evokes similar emotions for you.
