Night Fish

We went on a trip in the fall of 2021, spent a month in Florida, and on the way home stopped in Alabama for my wife to visit with some family she hadn’t seen for years. While in Alabama we stayed at, so far our favorite park, Wind Creek State Park.

What made this park our favorite was that our spot was right on the lake, with a beach in our back yard, there weren’t that many people there. And the photography was fantastic, I seriously could’ve walked around that park for weeks capturing images.

But night fish was captured at 8:30 pm and it was pitch blackout. My wife and I went to the pier because I saw it earlier in the day and pictured this shot then. I got lucky and there was a super nice elderly couple fishing and they let me grab this shot. I captured a bunch of shots of this pier but this one is by far my favorite.

I think a lot of what made this my favorite was this old couple that still had a love that you could sense just from talking to them, and they were doing something together that kept them young and together. Doing photography and traveling the country with my wife is something that keeps me going, there is no one I’d rather spend time with more than my wife. Watching this older couple really hit me and I hope this image stirs some emotions for you too.

Let me know what you think, and who you love to spend time with…
