Infinite Ascent
As May warmth settled over Badlands National Park, my wife, our English pointer Cooper, and I followed the road through one of South Dakota’s most mesmerizing landscapes. Out there, the horizon is never still—every bend reveals a new shape, a new layer of stone, a new kind of silence.
“Infinite Ascent” captures that feeling of discovery in a single, simple gesture: a road climbing a gentle slope, seeming to rise straight into a wall of rugged rock—until it turns, almost at the last moment, and continues on. In infrared black and white, the land takes on a dreamlike clarity. The plains glow softly, the rock holds its weight and texture, and the road becomes a dark ribbon guiding the eye forward.
This image is about movement and possibility—about trusting the curve you can’t yet see, and letting the landscape lead you. A perfect piece for anyone who loves the open road, the American West, and the quiet wonder of places that feel bigger than time.
Printed to museum-quality standards and available in multiple sizes and premium materials (paper, canvas, metal, acrylic, and more depending on availability). If you’d like a different size, finish, or framing option, reach out and I’ll help you customize the perfect piece for your space. Contact Dan
