Ruby Bonsai

On Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island, Georgia, the shoreline feels like a natural sculpture garden—weathered trunks, twisted roots, and salt-worn wood scattered across the sand. During a coastal walk with my wife, we came upon one tree that stood apart from the rest. Its limbs curled and reached with such deliberate grace it instantly reminded me of a bonsai—wild, oversized, and impossibly elegant.

“Ruby Bonsai” is my infrared tribute to that moment. In color infrared, the foliage transforms into a vivid ruby red, amplifying the tree’s shape and turning the scene into a dreamlike canvas. Against the driftwood-strewn beach and fading light, the tree feels like a quiet guardian—part botanical marvel, part coastal myth.

This print is for collectors who love nature’s oddities and coastal beauty—where the shoreline surprises you, and infrared reveals a hidden world inside the familiar.

Printed to museum-quality standards and available in multiple sizes and premium materials (paper, canvas, metal, acrylic, and more depending on availability). If you’d like a different size, finish, or framing option, reach out and I’ll help you customize the perfect piece for your space. Contact Dan
