At Brooms Island, Maryland, the sky can turn into theater in a matter of minutes. In “Storms Dance,” a weathered dock stands out against a gathering storm—steady, defiant, and small beneath the weight of the clouds. The air felt charged, the kind of moment where you can sense lightning before you ever see it.

I stepped onto the dock to photograph the approaching tempest, but the atmosphere grew volatile fast. When lightning began to break across the sky, instinct took over. With camera in one hand and tripod in the other, I turned to retreat—moving quickly, crouching low, choosing safety.

And in that split second—almost accidental, almost choreographed—I pressed the shutter and captured the dock bathed in otherworldly infrared light. The result is more than a landscape; it’s a record of nature’s unpredictable choreography and the thin line between awe and danger.

This print is for collectors who love weather, drama, and images that feel alive—where the story behind the frame is written in wind, cloud, and adrenaline.

Printed to museum-quality standards and available in multiple sizes and premium materials (paper, canvas, metal, acrylic, and more depending on availability). If you’d like a different size, finish, or framing option, reach out and I’ll help you customize the perfect piece for your space. Contact Dan
