Christ Church has stood on Saint Simons Island for over 150 years, and in the late light, with Spanish moss hanging still in the air, it doesn't look aged so much as settled.

I shot it in color infrared, which turned the canopy of live oaks a deep red — not a color you'd see standing there in person, but one that somehow feels closer to the weight of the place than the real one would. The moss caught the light instead of just hanging in it.

I didn't need to add drama. The church had already done the work of standing quietly for two centuries. My job was just to be there at the right hour.

This print is for collectors drawn to Southern history and quiet reverence — architecture that holds its ground, softened by time and light.

Complimentary standard U.S. & Canada shipping is included. Each artwork is made to order and carefully prepared for its journey to you.

Printed to museum-quality standards, Churchyard Sunset is offered on Satin Photo Paper, chosen for its gentle luminosity and finely preserved rendering of Christ Church, the glowing Spanish moss, and the rich infrared foliage. It is also available on Acrylic, which deepens the radiant color and gives the filtered sunlight, architectural detail, and surrounding trees a luminous sense of dimension. Each finish was selected to honor the image’s meeting of history, spirituality, and otherworldly light. If you would like a different size, finish, or framing option, contact Dan.
